thanksgiving

A little late but thanksgiving is always an interesting time when you are the only vegan in the family. I made:
tofu chocolate cream pie
pumpkin pie
carmelized onions in a sherry sauce
stuffing
cranberry rice salad
pumpkin tempura
glazed carrots (didn't turn out so well)
spiced pecans
Acorn squash stuffed with curry vegetables.

Surprisingly my extended family actually tried most of what I made and liked it. Of course I didn't feel the need to inform them that my pies were half tofu.
Turns out there was so much other drama (involving a cousin bringing her boyfriend to thanksgiving and some racist grandparents) that they almost forgot about me being vegan.

I thought I was being responsible

I have been missing classes, not a good thing in my case since most of my profs take attendance. Today I made a point of getting up early and getting to class 15 minutes before it started. I was the first one there but when I opened my bag I had forgotten my art pencils and drawing pad, I didn't even bring my eraser. So it looks like I'm missing class yet again.

I finally got around to trying out this journal thing. It looks like it will be fun once I find the time to go through and figure out how everything works.
